Crane lifts onto steep blocks above Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy
Agnes Water and the Town of Seventeen Seventy are the northern end of the run, in the Gladstone region, in off the highway along the sealed road. Tourism carries the towns: surf, reef trips from the 1770 marina, fishing charters, camping, holiday beds. Then the building that comes with a growing coast. The blocks are the variable — steep, treed, often sandy — and a fair number need a crane.

Agnes Water does not have a staffed container yard of ours. The unit is chosen in Bundaberg and sent up the Discovery Coast. Distance is why the grade and the truck should be settled in the quote, not on the morning. Photos of the actual box, serial readable, are the straightforward way to see what you are getting before it travels. Send your own photos too: from the street, down the drive, and of the pad.
There is no 1770 depot address to hand out. What the site lists is the Bundaberg yard, postcode 4670. The phone is the Bundaberg number at the top of the page.
Hire fleets, charter spares, and houses that arrived full
Surf schools and kayak hire need board racks and a lock near the water. Charter operators need spare parts and safety gear that are not living on the boat. Builders need somewhere for materials on lots where a shed is years away. Households that moved up the coast often brought more than the new place holds.
A 20ft with racks keeps a surf or kayak fleet together overnight. A high cube gives room to hang wetsuits and to work with the doors shut against the wind. A business that only swells in the busy months can hire rather than own. Whichever you choose, rinse salt off the gear, vent the box, and keep stock off the floor. Condensation in a shut container marks gear more often than rain does. Beside this beach, choose a unit that has passed a dryness check, or a new one if it will stay for years. The bargain grade is not offered as dry; rust already on it spreads in salt, and a replacement has to travel the same long road.
4677 on the coast, other codes inland of it
Agnes Water, Seventeen Seventy, Captain Creek, Round Hill and Miriam Vale are postcode 4677. Bororen, back toward the highway, is 4678. Baffle Creek, Rules Beach and Deepwater are 4674. Lowmead is 4676.
Those codes are all on the northern run, but they are not the same road. Name the locality. A house above Agnes Water and a rural lot at Miriam Vale do not share a driveway problem, even though both are 4677.
Hills, gums, and when the crane is the truck
Much of Agnes Water is bush on hills: steep drives, tight bends, gums against the house. Near the beach the ground is sand. A tilt-tray wants a straight run and firm standing, and a lot of these lots have neither. A crane truck lifts over a fence, down a slope, or into a gap between trees. It costs more than a tilt-tray, so that difference belongs in the first price, not as a surprise. Three photos — street, drive, pad — are how we quote the right truck.
Round Hill Road itself is sealed and is not the hard bit. The block at the end of it is. If overhead branches will meet the crane, say so. Can you deliver onto a steep, treed block at Agnes Water?
Often, with a crane that lifts over a fence or down a slope. It costs more than a tilt-tray. Pictures from the street, along the drive and of the pad let us price the truck that will actually fit.
Is hiring worth it for a surf-school season only?
If the extra storage is only for the busy months, hire can cost less than owning a box you do not need in the quiet ones. Year-round storage usually favours buying. Tell us the months and both are priced.
Which grade if the block is near the beach and the trip from Bundaberg is long?
Cargo-worthy, or new single-trip for a long outdoor life. Getting it wrong is expensive because the replacement travels the same road. As-is is not sold as watertight and does not age well in salt.
Agnes Water is Gladstone Regional Council. Do we need their approval?
Whether you need an approval depends on how long the container stays and on the zoning. Check with Gladstone Regional Council before you lock in a permanent spot. We can give the external measurements for the paperwork.
